Ribbon Cutting at Glenn D. Cohen, M.D., Inc.
Westlake Village has a new Medical Plaza. located on Hampshire Rd. and it is in the finishing stages now. Dr. Glenn Cohen, a renowned hand surgeon and orthopaedic specialist, is the first medical office to open in this new plaza.
The Grand Opening was spectacular! I walked through the double door entry and experienced a Zen-like atmosphere decorated in beautiful soothing colors. It felt like I was walking into a spa! Dr. Cohen and his beautiful wife, Tricia, who is also actively involved in the business, introduced their knowledgeable and helpful staff, and their family and friends who were in attendance. The affair was lavishly catered by Fins of Calabasas.
The highlight for me was hearing Dr. Cohen’s story of how he started out six years ago working in emergency rooms and growing his client base from there. Tricia was expecting their first child and they were barely making ends meet. He was approached by a large group of doctors to join them and work in the group. "Although," he said, "the idea was tempting," he chose to tough it out and stay autonomous because he knew if he could just get his client base up he could build a great practice.
Dr. Cohen said that his practice is "like serving a glass of home made lemonade over ice and sugar around the rim... and it tastes great every time." The larger, more impersonal practice that he chose not to join served MinuteMaid.
So here is a story of a couple that worked very hard and turned nothing into everything... their new office is "Beverly Hills" style and the staff are friendly, caring and professional. Dr. Cohen also said that other practices coming into the Westlake Medical Plaza have the theme of bringing "Beverly Hills" service and even better quality to local residents of the Conejo Valley.
As we toasted to Dr. Cohen's success, one of our creative Chamber Ambassadors gave a toast that said, "Dr. Glenn Cohen, the best hand surgeon in Westlake Village, HANDS DOWN." and on that note we all cheered and took a drink.
